We offer an atmosphere where everyone of any age is welcome to come, to visit, to taste, to talk, to study or read, to surf the net, or to just be.
We believe every community deserves access to the highest quality, single origin coffee known to the trade as “specialty coffee.”
Much of the coffee the folk in our small town of Wellsboro have access to is lower tiered coffee known as “commodity coffee” with a few locations serving “premium coffee” under the familiar corporate umbrellas of franchises and chains.
The Wired Rooster has changed this through offering specialty coffee roasted to order nearby in Williamsport, PA by Alabaster Coffee Roaster and Tea Company. Alabaster rocks. The crew at Alabaster sources coffee seasonally, in the major growing regions around the globe, and only from farmers who care about what they’re doing.
The global spread of coffee growing and drinking began in the Horn of Africa, where, according to legend, coffee trees originated in the Ethiopian province of Kaffa.
The first literary reference to coffee being drunk in North America is from 1668 and, soon after, coffee houses were established in New York, Philadelphia, Boston and other towns.
Today it is possible to find good coffee in every major city of the world, from New York and Seattle to London to Sydney to Tokyo.
