Dark Roast Coffee at Tim Horton's

Avatar Ray Williamson Posted on: 2013-10-28 12:00 AM
Tim Horton's of Oakville Ontario Canada is going to pilot serving dark roast coffee in Columbus, Ohio and London, Ontario. The move will be the first time that Timmy's has offered an alternative to it's famous Canadian Brew.  The new blend will be 100% Arabica beans and will cost the same as the regular blends of coffee.

"Arabica coffee production in Indonesia began in 1699. Indonesian coffees, such asSumatran and Java, are known for heavy body and low acidity. This makes them ideal for blending with the higher acidity coffees from Central America and East Africa."

Giving customers a choice may be a strategy to compete with rivals like Starbucks and Second Cup who are competing for your coffee pennies.

The pilot will commence in Columbus on October 28th and in London Ontario on November 4th.

In my personal opinion it is a great move.  Customers want choice and offering a more robust coffee will open Tim's up to more customers.  It is an acknowledgement that the coffee industry is getting more competitive and that can only be good for consumers.

Check back soon and we'll provide a link to the locations where you can try the dark roast.

We'd like to hear from you if you have a chance to taste this new brew.

Cheers,
