Some Cool Coffee Shop Concepts

Avatar Posted on: 2014-02-23 12:00 AM
Sensational cafe concepts have been behind the world's most dynamic and design-savy coffee houses. These wonderfully-designed spaces are not only meant to be communal and interactive, but also serve as relaxing getaways for coffee lovers everywhere.

In an attempt to help coffee enthusiasts find great places to enjoy a unique experience this is the first in an upcoming series that will explore great new coffee shop concepts.

These internationally renowned spaces are not only known for their signature brew of coffee, but also for their distinctive design. From storage container pop-up coffee shops to soaring treehouse cafes, these cozy conversation spots are neighborhood favorites that stand out against the uniformity of neighbouring big franchise coffee houses.

One-of-a-kind coffee house concepts including pet store cafes, cycling coffee shops and even fashion shop cafe hybrids are putting emphasis on individuals' desire for unique, small-run businesses that have presence and character. Coffee lovers are always looking for the city's best kept secret and these personality-enriched spaces are undeniable hotspots.

Mocha Mojo - India

The Mocha Mojo coffeehouse may not look like a traditional cafe with its colorfully layered look. In fact, it looks more like a play area for children inspired by iconic LEGO building blocks. Instead, it is inspired by the 70’s mastery of 'special,' which is furniture and wallpaper that in turn took cues from early modernists’ approach towards interiors.

Designed by Mancini Design, the Mocha Mojo coffeehouse is located in Chennai, India. Bright and bold, it focuses on a 60s and 70s view of opulence and ornamentation in which light and color is brought to their basic and pure forms.

With an overall 3D aesthetic, the Mocha Mojo coffeehouse really pops out. I feel as though the drink and food will have to be exceptionally good in order to be noticed at all.

Portuguese firm that specializes in architecture and lighting design has created an integrative space with the LOFF Meltino Bar & Lounge.

The LOFF Meltino Bar & Lounge Uses Coffee as Its Conceptual Inspiration

Using magnified bean grains as a visual motif, the double-walled structures that surround the interior coffee shop cause compelling light effects on the inside. Blending the various sizes and forms of the whitewashed latticework and the geometric structures, the LOFF Meltino Bar & Lounge itself is a conversation starter over a cappuccino.

Laundromat Cafe - Copenhagen

Copenhagen's Laundromat Cafe is one of the few places in the world where you can grab a cup of coffee while doing your laundry at the same time. The Laundromat Cafe in Copenhagen actually has two locations: one in Østerbro and another in Nørrebro.

The Laundromat Cafe may be one of the hippest laundromats around. The wooden walls are filled with vintage photographs and pop-art pieces. Customers waiting for their clothes to wash can kill time sipping coffee and reading through one of the Laundromat Cafe's 2,000 books. The Laundromat Cafe actively encourages its customers to read, even going so far as to hand out witty bookmarks that also double as postcards. If you're looking to grab a cup of coffee at a cafe that is unlike any other in the world, be sure to check out Copenhagen's Laundromat Cafe.
